I’m James Bob, owner of Top Notch Painting & Construction LLC based in Vancouver, WA. I’ve been working in the painting and construction industry since I got out of high school. Over the years, I’ve had the chance to learn a lot, work on all kinds of projects, and develop a real appreciation for doing things the right way with quality, attention to detail, and pride in the work.

In 2015, my first child was born, and that changed everything for me. I wanted to be more present, to build something that would give me the flexibility to be around my family while doing what I love. That’s what pushed me to start this company in 2016.

I started Top Notch with a simple goal: to provide honest, reliable service and deliver results I can be proud of. Whether I’m working on a small residential job or a large commercial space, I personally manage every project from beginning to end. I use high-quality materials, proven techniques, and I never cut corners. To me, it’s not just about making something look good today, it’s about making sure it lasts and that the customer is happy with the end result.

I’ve always believed in being upfront, showing up on time, and treating people with respect. Most of my business comes from word-of-mouth, and I think that says a lot. I’m proud to serve Vancouver and all of Clark County, and I’m grateful to the homeowners and businesses who trust me with their spaces.
